The Nursery was a notorious after-hours club in the late 70's and early 80's located in New York City. The third and last location of the club was at 98 Third Avenue, between East 12th and East 13th Street. With 4 floors of debaucery, regulars included celebrities such as John Belushi, Bill Murray, Robin Williams, Nick Nolte, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, David Johansen and The New York Dolls, Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, Debbie Harry, Blondie, Joey Ramone and The Ramones, Alan Vega, Marty Rev (Suicide), Billy Idol, Robert Gordon, Chris Spedding, Sirius Trixon and the Motor City Bad Boys, Grace Jones, Alan Gingsberg, Lou Reed, The Dead Boys, Willie DeVille, Marianne Faithful, David Lee Roth, Peter Wolf (J Geils Band), The Stray Cats, Talking Heads, Richard Hell, Patti Smith, Lenny Kaye, Leslie West, Rick Derringer as well as porn stars, The Hells Angels, drug dealers and other colorful characters from the New York nightlife scene.
