I am from Tuscaloosa originally. After college I moved to Birmingham and taught English at Hoover High and Oak Mountain High. Then I went on this CRAZY blind date with a wonderful guy named Jeff. 6 weeks later...yes...you read correctly...6 weeks later we were engaged. When you know...you just know! HA! I swore I would never move back home, but I guess that's what I get for saying never...Anywho, we were married on April 2, 2005 6 months to the day of our blind date. We managed to pull off the surprise of the century...OUR WEDDING! We told everyone we were going to be married in Hawaii just the two of us on April 23rd. We planned a "Reception" party for April 2nd, with a fun band and lots of yummy food! After the party started Jeff made a toast and informed our guests that we had been lying all along! We were getting married that night and leaving for Hawaii the next day. No One knew, not our parents, not our friends...no one! It was great! We changed into the gown and tux we had snuck in earlier in the day and were married in the sweetest ceremony surrounded by all of our friends and family.
Six months later we found out we were expecting a baby! We were thrilled to find out it was a boy and decided to name him William Anderson. He was born on June 22, 2006 at 3:28 am weighing 7 lbs, 4 oz and stretching out to 18 1/2 inches long. He was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen when they handed him to me. When Anderson was 17 months we found out a new baby was on the way. Lydia Adelane Smith was born on July 25, 2008 at 5:30 pm weighing 7 lbs 14 oz and 19 1/4 inches long. I am still staying home with both babies now and feel so blessed to watch them grow and learn new things everyday! Life is good! We love spending time as a family strolling around the neighborhood and playing with Anderson and all of his toys! We are enjoying helping with a new church plant here in Tuscaloosa (Church of the Highlands), and of course we love Alabama football games! Roll Tide!
