I have a very dominant adventurous side so I love to try anything at least once, especially things that challenge my fears like climbing. I'm a huge sports/fitness and outdoors finatic (I'm mesmerized by the natural world), so I am in my element most when I'm engaged in something active like hiking/camping, dancing, volleyball, boarding, tennis, UFC & boxing (uh, strictly as a spectator, of course), and football.
I'm extremely social and am at my most hyper when I go out and mingle with friends and strangers alike, but it's often the quiet moments of self-reflection (reading, meditating, sketching and singing?! lol) that keeps me positive, serene, and logical. I love to laugh so watching stand-ups and going to comedy clubs are at the top of my list =). My favorite weekly wind-down activity is probably diving into deep, involved conversations with friends over a few beers.
People with substance, a sense of humor, a sense of adventure and spontaneity, an easy-going attitude, and most importantly, intelligence and maturity.
How does anyone like only 1 genre of music? I must be aging though b/c I do tend to like a lot of "old school" stuff now. Some timeless classics: Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Ozomatli, TLC, System, Portishead, NIN, STP, Guns n Roses, The Cure, Metellica, The Gypsy Kings, White Stripes, Sublime,Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Violent Femmes, Nirvana, old Offspring stuff (you know, when they were actually punk?!)...you get the idea. I also have a major boner for acoustic guitar, esp Latin music. I hate all things "pop"-pop alternative is especially annoying, and all the hip hop and rap on the radio now is CRAP.
I love comedy, foreign, action, and anything that manages to "surprise" me. Some favs: A Clockwork Orange, Crash, Scarface, Life or Something Like It, Empire, City of God, Office Space, Boyz n the Hood, The 40 Yr Old Virgin, most Ben Stiller (Zoolander) & Will Ferrel movies (Anchorman), Chungking Express, Count of Monte Cristo, Motorcycle Diaries, Sideways, Team America (I love dirty & dry humor), Devil's Advocate, Blood In Blood Out (Yum...Benjamin Bratt, jk!), Rounders, The Professional, Die Hard I and III, and Fight Club.
Stuff on TLC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, Travel Channel, Animal Planet, Food Network, History Channel, Court TV (crime scenes are like pieces of a puzzle;love seeing the logic behind crime investigations), ESPN and SpikeTV. Hmm, I'm kind of nerdy so anything that can open my eyes to new things and places and teach me facts about the natural world captivates me.
I'm currently working on reading the "Wine Bible"- everything you'd EVER want to know about varieties of wine and their origins. I've got ALMOST the entire Paulo Coelho collection down...I love his writing! Also, My timeless favs: "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle ;) and anything that Alice Walker writes-literary works of ART!
Angellina Jolie and Alicia Keys...They're not my "heroes," but I admire these two women immensely. Both are amazingly talented, sexy, assertive, and strong. Angellina Jolie's humanitarian ways totally resonates with my own ethnical ideologies.
