Tequila Mockingbirds

TQ performed and recorded in the 1980s under the name Pruitt Igo and JoyHammer. Many who follwed the band back then or those have heard these recordings comment on TQ being "way ahead of the curve" in the context of the time. The demand from various emailers and MySpacers to re-visiit TQ's music thas compelled me to dust off and post those recordings I could find. Recently, the master tapes were found in Daddy Gamble's basement and a subsequent endeavor to restore them and mix them down (properly) is under way. For some reason we had a hundereds of folks downloading our music in February and it shut the site down as it exceeded our bandwith. That has been increased...so HAVE AT IT!I suspect that "Money is Our God" was used somewhere that sparked renewed interest - It's been used for evil purposes before mind you - -but who knows how these things get started.( Although our song "Jesus loves Goverment Cheese" and "Why did you Try to Kill the Master" has actually spawned a bunch of hate mail from disgrunted Christians. Maybe they like us after all......)I guess some of those are scary songs for religous types - the rant at end of "Valentinos Curse" still raises the hairs on the back of my neck. (I think the protagonist is rougering some girl with a champagne bottle and something goes horribly wrong...) Too bad the rest of the song could have been recorded better. Anyway...enjoy.
