About Me
..This profile was edited with Jesus' Eyes! From the confines of a well lit 12x15 ft. box, WOODS Of ARDEN emerge
after endless months of drilling; turning chaos to concentration. This
Staten Island quintet consists of Mike Gambino on drums, Mario Traina on
lead guitar, Jordan Wolfson on bass, Greg Gioia with rhythm guitar, and
Alex Kostov on vocals. Alex was found by WOODS OF ARDEN, almost a
year after forming, through Craigslist.org after moving to the United States
from Bulgaria.Together, WOA rip out complex riffs, pounding rhythms and surprisingly
melodic sections, with roaring vocals to bring a type of original music not
often perfected in the current scene. Approaching the band with diverse
influences ranging from Stone Temple Pilots to Mudvayne, Tool to Led
Zeppelin, Metallica to Whitesnake, WOA offer a multi-faceted collaborative
effort. The goal is to bring kickass Hard n Heavy Rock to anyone who will
take the time to listen, and even those who wont. Now, after four grueling
months in the studio with BLACK EYE MOBILE STUDIOS' Tucker and
Lightsey (of THE PENNYROYALS fame), WOA bring you 5 mind-numbing
tracks with their self-titled EP - now available online. Tread lightly
however, because whether you're ready or not, here it comes....Since the band set out in August 2004, WOODS OF ARDEN have played
at such New York City standards as CBGB 315, The Bitter End, Arlenes
Grocery, The Knitting Factorys Main Stage, The Continental, and the
Grand Ballroom at Webster Hall. WoA have shared the stage with National
acts SUICIDE CITY, FEAR THE STATE, INHERENCE and have also
performed alongside THE PENNYROYALS on multiple occasions.By July 2006, WOODS OF ARDEN advanced to, and competed in the
Emergenza 2006 International Music Festival and Battle of the Bands
(emergenza.net) National Finals at Webster Hall. Representing Staten
Island, WoA finished 9th overall out of 3,000 bands from the Northeast
region.Presently, WOODS OF ARDEN are promoting the new EP by playing shows
regularly around the New York City/Tri-State area and continue to make
progress by constantly working on exciting new material.
