I'm a guitarist, bass player and songwriter. I've played and recorded in a lot of bands with a load of great people (see the pics) including The Ric Sanders Group, Fairport Convention, Touch & Go, Nigel Kennedy, John Etheridge, Dave Swarbrick, Andrew Cronshaw, The Albion Morris Band, Brent Ford & The Nylons, Rik Mayall, and I write music for TV. I used to be a presenter on Channel 5 but I'm alright now.
A few friends have said I should put up some of the solo stuff I've done, so here we go with a few things from the forthcoming solo album.
The first tune is a double guitar improvisation I recorded as a tribute to my hero Joe Zawinul. The title was inspired my his son Erich's simple yet profound statement:
"Joe Zawinul was born in Earth time on 07 July 1932 and was born in Eternity time on 11 September, 2007. He, and his music, will continue to inspire!"
In my (less than humble) opinion, no greater musician has ever walked the planet.
Also got some more gigs coming up with the excessively talented Tyler Massey - enormously good fun. He's a really great guitar player, singer and songwriter. We've just begun some recording, you can hear a rough mix here of 'Don't Look Away.' or you can visit: myspace.com/masseyfletcher
My main band is the Ric Sanders Group - you can check out: www.ricsanders.co.uk. I love playing with these guys. Ric and Greg are two of the most empathetic and inventive musicians I've ever worked with and this band is a complete joy. We've got two albums out which you can get on iTunes.
The album with Catherine Howe is nearly done. There'll be some more samples up on the CatherineHoweVoFletcher myspace.
Also doing gigs and recording with the Amazing Laura Broad.
Just taken delivery of an Olivewood Parlour Guitar made by Malcolm Weaver. I simply cannot believe the tone and volume that is produced by this beautiful little instrument. Check out Malcolm's web site:www.olivewoodparlourguitars.com
