Santa is proud to announce The Allophons (a/k/a Cologne's experimental masterminds F.X.Randomiz and C-Schulz). Going way beyond the possibilities of common dj-sets, The Allophons have extracted thousands of snippets from tracks across all styles and genres, ruthlessly deconstructed them using the most advanced techniques and blended them into completely new tracks. The Santa collection offers terabytes of unheard - yet strangely familar - sounds in a set of 10 CD's. The Allophons' instrument is digital technology - editing, processing, arranging. Their "revised recordings", created from existing works, make wry commentaries on the content of the source material. The gestures and tonalities of much-loved genres from yesteryear are ruthlessly deconstructed and blended into new exciting music. Enjoy duets that never happened! C-Schulz & F.X.Randomiz - Das Ohr am Gleis
After years of silence, while F.X.Randomiz was busy with other music and art related projects, there's a new release - a collaboration with artist C-Schulz, on the fine Sonig label (www.sonig.com):
"Das Ohr am Gleis" is a composition in both 5.1 Surround Sound and Stereo Sound, released on DualDisc. This latest 2-sided disc format will play back on any DVD player (5.1 surround) and on any CD player (Stereo). C-Schulz and F.X.Randomiz recorded trains and sounds related to trains in several places all over Europe (including Russia) and transformed those recordings into a piece of music that is not at all the typical 'field recordings' thing, but a composition that takes you on a journey from film music like tracks to heavily processed rhythmic tracks to abstract sounds flying around your head to ... well, listen to the medley to get an impression.
