About Me

Formerly known as "House of X Ent." , Autonomous Entertainment is comprised of a wide array of Hip-Hop lyrical and production talent. Its members have years of experience writing, recording, producing, performing, and promoting, and as a result have managed a very impressive resume for an independant company. The members of Autonomous have rocked shows at venues such as The Los Magnificos Custom Car Show (Annual event in Houston,TX where the biggest names in hip-Hop music are invited), the Joe Carmona Custom Car Show, The Astro Arena Cinco De Mayo celebration, the Martin Luther King Jr memorial celebration at the George R. Brown Convention center, and the Westhiemer Streets Festival (Not to mention every hole-in-the-wall club to all the top notch Hip-Hop spots, and talent shows in Houston). They have traveled a little bit to promote and do shows in neigboring Southern states such as Louisianna, Alabama, and Mississippi. Some of the notable artists the emcees of Autonomous have opened up for include 8-Ball and MJG, U.G.K, Juvenile and the Hott Boyz, Scarface, Too $hort, Lil' O, Wass Ness, Lil' Troy, Swisha House, Big Pokey, and South Park Mexican (SPM). Back in 1999, two members of the label (Dcipher and Shorty-Sublime) were involved in their first professional music project in their group T.I.C (The Inner Chambers...along with original group-member Da Lunatic, or 'Luny' of San Jose,CA). Through their own desire and effort, with very limited help, they wrote and co-produced an album, which was titled "Born In The Chamber" , packaged the finished product and landed consignment deals all over town to sell the CD. Though there were only 13 tracks on the CD, 3 songs were selected to recieve airplay on two of Houstons premiere Hip-Hop/R&B radio stations (97.9 KBXX and 104.9 The HouseParty). They later did a remix to one of the 3 songs, called "Competition", which also got play on the radio. Autonomous has released several underground projects since then, including a live session with local Houston Grundge band "RedNekklace"- a different from the norm mix of Freestyled Hip-Hop lyrics over freestyled Drums and Guitar. They have also featured on many local Hip-Hop artists projects, including up and coming Houston emcee D-Blunt, and all artisits from BackBreakazRecords (WBKZ Radio MixTapes) . During the promotion period of 'Born In The Chamber', T.I.C did several Radio DJ Show intros, including "The Box morning Players" (on 97.9 in the mornings with The Madd Hatta), That Major Player Mean Green (The Original Big Baby Meanster Greenster), and G-Man. Today, all four members of Autonomous heavily network in different areas of the country, finding new artisits/producers to collab with to bring that fresh, new Autonomous signature sound. "It's all about staying true to yourself, and not conforming your ways to what the industry wants you to be." says the labels top producer ROC the Scorpion. "Autonomous allows you to be FREE, and express your opinions without being afraid of how your image is viewed by the mainstream." he went on to add. Roc and Shorty Sublime are both still creating music from their original stomping grounds in Houston, while Dcipher is now in Detroit, and Infinate Quest is in the military, but still on his grind with this music. "We all network through Data CDs mostly. It sounds like we were all in the same studio together," says group member Dcipher, "And we meet up in Houston every chance we get, so we can work side by side- we stay close like a family should." , he went on to tell us. Autonomous is not only known for their Houston hip-hop concious-but-street flava' lyrics, but have also ventured into the realm of Spoken Word Poetry. They released their 1st Album recently on the underground circut, which was simply titled "Autonomous Poetry". This project was a compilation, which displayed the talents of several of Houstons up and coming poets...and emcees. "This project has alot of profound meaning behind every poem," said group member Shorty-Sublime "and takes a mind that can appreciate that level of conciousness to relate to many of those messages." The album has a definate street element intertwined. A new Spoken Word project will be released every 6 months, so BE ON THE LOOKOUT for the next album- coming soon. Autonomous stays busy creating new music to enlighten and entertain the Hip-Hop world. "The Hip-Hop game needs us man, the game doesnt have too many groups/lables moving the culture into a forward direction" said group member Infinant Quest, "and though we do keep it 'street' we take it back to the essence, and exercise your conciousness." he added. Dcipher describes them best: "We are....AUTONOMOUS- Self-Governed; Independant; Subject To Our Own Laws ONLY !! " Myspace Contact Tables travel layout powered by HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments

Band Members: Dcipher & Shorty-Sublime are 'Tha Twinz' representing T.I.C (The Inner Chambers) , I.Q. (Infinite Quest) , and ROC tha Scorpion (The Man Behind The Beats!)
Influences: OutKast, Tha Roots, The Geto Boys & Scarface, K Rino, Rakim, Krs-1, Bone Thugs, DJ Screw, Saul Williams, Goodie Mob, Common, Old School South Park Coalition(SPC), 8-Ball & MJG, UGK, Big-L, .....to name a very few...
Sounds Like: Concious Hip-Hop with a Dose of the Streets. It's like The Geto Boys collide with Outkast- but really it's a unique sound derived from The East Coast AND West Coast, with a thick Down South Home-Grown Style & Flavor; A Lyrical Potluck if you will. These emcees have been around, and deliver a style that combines all of their experiences from each of their unique journeys. They can get up on an up-tempo joint and rip it fast, or slow it down Chopped and Screwed...but Always spittin' substance behind the content. They Dont rap about the norm (i.e money, hoes, cars, clothes...)- And do NOT conform to fads, and commercial strategies. This is definately a sound that can only be described with one word.....AUTONOMOUS
Record Label: Autonomous Entertainment
Type of Label: Indie
