About Me

..History of Slightly Left of Center: Started in 1995 as a concept for a record label or artist promotion forum Slightly Left of Center has evolved into a series of things the least of which is the title for a series of recorded works. The revolving door of musicians envolved with this project is truly staggering but each and every member who is involved gets their due and we will try and post as many songs here as we can. The only consistant member of SLofC is Shamus the bass player. The current project involves musicians from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Dublin, and Paris and released it's first single "The Past" by Liquid last August, 2006. Shamus is also working locally with Ellicott City, Maryland bands the "FuNk MoNKeys" (check out our friends section for their link), Pennsylvania based "Gobbler's Knob" and "Stryker's Music" as well as"Tom French and the Vibe" and Shamus' own solo project "Ghost". Recently Shamus has signed on to do "Poppers" and all original band based around loops and digital processing with members of several different bands all over the world via internet recordings. Key contributors to Slightly Left of Center's past include: The House Plants, Shock Logic, The Drunken Lizards, Insurection, FatKid, Sukrod, Rejected by the Handle, one Cylinder Dog, and S.P.D., Quicksand Pictures, S.D.Jones. Many of the acts are short lived projects but many of them have had long term or Radio play success. If you like to write songs via internet or are local to the Baltimore area and are looking for someone new to jam with feel free to contact Shamus through this site. Thanks for visiting.

Sounds Like: The idea with Slightly Left of Center is to sound like anything and everything, while our bass tends to be towards the funk side of life our current guitar and vocalist is more along the lines of classic rock. Never ones to short ourselves we'll try anything. Sometimes it works and well sometimes it doesn't. Last years show in NJ found us sporting a cover of "Toxic" while a metal show a few weeks later in Ohio found us playing Pantera. You never know what you'll get and we hope to keep it that way!
