This was written by my mother who won 3rd prize for it in this year's old farmers almanac.its about my late sister Jessica R.I.P"When my five daughters were growing up, we lived on a tight budget. I usually paid up to $1.50 for seconhand clothing, but that was the limit. One day, something at a small yard sale caught my eye. On the makeshift clothesline hung the most beautiful hand-crocheted dress. It was light beige, ankle length, in exce4llent condition, and it screamed my daughter Jessica's name. The tag saif $5, but I did'nt think twice as i fished into my purse to pay the lady.
Just as I thought, Jessica fell in love with the dress. As she slipped into its "laciness," she smiled from ear to ear and that was worth so much more than five dollars.
Two weeks later, Jessica wore the dress one last time, never to remove it again.
