Friends of Mountain Stage is non profit organization that supports MOUNTAIN STAGE. MOUNTAIN STAGE is a two-hour radio show recorded before a live audience in Charleston, WV. Now in its 25th year, the show has established a long tradition of featuring national and international acts in almost every style of music. Mountain Stage produces an average of 26 new shows a year. Most shows feature five acts and are taped at the Cultural Center Theater at the Capitol Complex in Charleston.A production of West Virginia Public Broadcasting, Mountain Stage is a series of two-hour specials that presents acts ranging from traditional roots and country music to avant garde rock and jazz. Mountain Stage producers respect the musicians who keep traditions alive as well as the innovators who forge ahead.
