Silenzio formed in 2005 thanks to four guys willing to create a prog/power metal project. After a few years spent playing in some cover bands, the four musketeers strongly wanted to express their ideas and to create a band to compose original pieces. The four Knights of the Apocalypse were: Marco Ricotti (drums), Davide Nascimbene (keyboard), Marcello Stefanelli (bass) and Alessandro Tretonzi (guitar). During this period, they had many ideas and recorded many instrumental auditions, yet lacking a singer fit for their purpose. In fact, they needed a singer who was out of the classical clichés of power metal. This was the beginning of the search for a voice which was suitable for their needs. After many auditions and maybe too much failed attempts with a myriad of voices whirling in an infinite vortex, the divine light came when an unaware inhabitant of a charming little village in the province of Pavia answered an online ad, according to which a metal band was looking for a singer for their project of original pieces. This was the official birth of Silenzio that, with the arrival of Daniele De Alberti (voice), began to record the missing vocal parts to their pieces. The contribution of Daniele De Alberti grew with time, as he learned the existing pieces very quickly and also took part in the writing and the composition of other pieces. It now was the right time to realize the original project of the Fab Four of recording a demo and beginning a series of live concerts. A recording studio was then contacted and the recording sessions were immediately fixed, and in a few months Silenzio would have had their first official demo; but just when all seemed to be ok, one of the members, Alessandro, began to feel the first symptoms of a muscular accident, which obliged him not to play his guitar for more than a year. Thus, he decided to abandon the project in order to allow his friends to go on without obstacles. As a consequence, in the following months, all the recordings were cancelled and the band had to look for a new guitarist. Fortunately, after the first moments of discouragement, they came into contact with another guitarist, Marco Denari, and the activities of the band began again. In a short time, thanks to continuous and intense rehearsals, the band managed to recover their pieces, to come back into contact with Orquestra Studios and to fix the recordings for their demo. From the beginning of June 2006 until the month of September, they recorded the pieces of their demo, with the precious help of Federico Provini for the mixage and the audio mastering and, after a precise graphic work and many "visits" to SIAE in Milan, the official demo of the band was ready on 29th March 2007…
