My Interests

I'd like to meet:

To hear Valli Lee play is to explore all of the realms of music - from electro grooves to acid basslines, minimal funk or tough house, she puts pure rhythm back onto the dancefloor. Not content to stay within musical boundaries, her name has become synonymous with a unique brand of rocking beats which is always layered with all things funky and fun.Valli Lee was a regular at Brisbane’s techno institution liquidBASS (2002-2006), helping to introduce such respected acts as Woody McBride, Chester Beatty, Dee Dee, Slack, Diskopussy and Sleiker to Brisbane audiences. She is also part of the Brain’s Trust behind the ever-popular free party The Goodness (2005 – present). With an ethos based on quality sounds, quality people and quality beer, The Goodness has been a much needed breath of fresh air into the Brisbane club scene. 2005 saw Valli invited to play two sets on the first ever Queensland leg of the Earthcore Global Carnival and then asked to return for 2006.In 2006 she added another string to her bow by being asked to co-host 4ZZZ community radio’s long-running underground electronica program Electronic Goodness every Saturday night in the prime 8-10pm timeslot. 2006 had also been a fruitful year on the gigging front with appearances at The Sunday Roast, Elements, Melt, 4ZZZ Market Day and Qld Earthcore. The madness continued throughout 2007 with Valli Lee in conjunction with mates Baax & Invid, starting a new free party called Doppelganger. She was also asked to support Stephan Bodzin and her all time favourite artists – Adam Beyer and Joel Mull. While she could now die a happy girl, 2008 is shaping up to be even busier with gigs supporting Joris Voorn and Layo & Bushwacka.Whether heating up the airwaves, smashing it in sweaty clubs, or bringing the quality techno sounds to the great outdoors, Valli Lee’s undeniable diversity always shines through.International Supports: Layo & Bushwacka, Joris Voorn, Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Stephan Bodzin, Meat Katie, Lee Coombs, Deetron, Kazu Kimura, Misjah, Chester Beatty, Drop the Lime, Kid 606, Princess Superstar
