I'm pretty quick with the clever and witty comments, so I usually lead with that when I'm meeting new people. If I'm not careful, I can draw blood. More recently, I hope I've kept the funny but toned down the evisceration factor in favor of a little more kindness. I find people endlessly fascinating and the next time I see you will instantly and effortlessly remember the names of all five of your gerbils or the fact that your Great Aunt Mildred was preparing for surgery to remove those pesky bunions. I'm pretty smart, fairly well educated, blessed with great family, friends, and opportunities, and am in the middle of a 1/3 life quest to figure out how best to capitalize on those things in a way that brings me true joy. Sometimes that's hard to do--but it's always worth it.
