About Me

get code @ MyHotCommentsI started playing on a Casio keyboard from Wal-Mart at a very early age. My first official instrument was the Tenor Saxophone. I was the only kid in the 5th grade that had enough lungs to blow the sax. Too funny though...it was bigger than I was. We inherited a piano sometime when I was in 6th or 7th grade and I used to sit next to the TV and play along with the commercials. I took a guitar lesson or two when I was about 10, but all I really wanted to do was hear my guitar teacher play "jack and Diane" over and over and over. I guess you can say the MUSIC chose me. I don't think anyone just picks up music as a hobby. It chooses you...it consumes you...it takes over your life. At least it did with me. I play just about every instrument by ear, and if you asked me to play a G minor chord on the guitar...I might just look at you funny and say..."show me". That's really all I have ever needed. Just play something once or twice and I get it. I can always play along. Whether it is the drums, bass, piano, guitar, or anything...I will give it hell until I find my niche. I move to Los Angeles in the spring of the new millennium to pursue the depths of my soul and spend the rest of my twenties discovering if I had any real musical talent. Well...I have assembled quite an array of musicians, a home recording studio, self=produced two albums as the trip-hop crew called THE THOUSANDS (www.myspace.com/thethousands), become music director of an award nominated theatre company, had my songs played on MTV, started my own publishing company, blah blah blah. I suppose I am giving this attempt every last breath of my body. Too bad you can't get PAID in the music business for just working hard at something. You have to know people, be aggressive, and constantly entertain. I have performed all over L.A. at such venues at The Viper Room, The Knitting Factory, The Cat Club, Dragonfly, Boardner's, as well as venues in Dallas and OKC. (Big ups to the Heartland of America) I hope you find my acoustic album inventive and expressive. I strive to have a unique sound and anyone that has seen me perform live will tell you that I leave nothing on the stage. I am about as passionate a person as you will ever find. Come see me play and you will remember me!!! Please add my songs to your home page and make me happy. I hope you have a great listen.
