On here, I am Killa K.
To my friends, I am Katie or KT.
To my son, I am Mommy.
To the fabulous students at Rogers High School, I am Mrs.Peters or KP.
To my family, I am Katiebug.
I am the definition of "what you see is what you get."
I don't believe in trying to appear something I'm not. I have dumb moments. I have ugly days. I slop my food on my shirt sometimes. I wear Goodwill clothes. I cant even PRETEND to be pretentious. But at the end of every day, I lay my head down and know I have been, authentically, me. ... ALL DAY. And I sleep very well.
I have been the coolest kid in the class and also the one who was most teased. I have been included and excluded. I have allowed words to make me feel less than beautiful. I have given other people the power to make me sad or feel unworthy. And then, I stood up. I realized that I am not the smartest, prettiest or best at anything.., but I deserve greatness just like you do. And I will have it. Or you will have to excuse yourself from my life.
I wear my emotions on my sleeve, which I think is a good thing. Life is too short to be fake.
I am well aware that I am English Teacher. I still make typos. Deal with it.
I believe in asking for 100% of what I want, 100% of the time. What is the worst that can happen? I am told, "No?" At least I have tried.
I have learned to be unapologetic about my heart. I have had people tease me about how much I love my job, how much I put into it and how 'into' it I get. I do not feel badly for this. My students deserve that. I am passionate about it and I think if more people were, this world would be a very different place.
There is absolutely nothing that my friends cannot make better. One night out with them cures my heart and lifts my spirits... especially girl time.
I am totally unworthy of the love my husband gives to me. Every woman should feel like he makes me feel all the time. There was a time where some friends questioned whether or not he was the right choice for me. I am SO glad I didnt listen.
Don't call things "gay" when you are unhappy with them. You are equating being 'gay' with being 'stupid' and it is disrespectful. I don't care if that isnt what you mean by it; it IS what you are saying. Correct it. You dont have to agree, but you WILL be respectful.
I love snow...esepcially at night.
My son is a genius. He can read, knows all his planets and continents and all the major organs of the body. He's 4.
I am a dancer. I don't get paid, I don't take lessons and I'm not ridiculously good. But I do it and I dont care. It is part of me being authentically me...all the time.
I hate rudeness because I am always respectful, whether I agree or not.
I want my "want to" to be fixed. I want my faith to be as real in a crisis as it is when I am celebrating His greatness. I want to, want to.
