The Show is recorded in San Diego, CA. But of course it is
broadcast to the world on the internet and on your MP3 player.
Each week the show features a new topic and we have a roundtable
discussion about movies, tv, dvd, music and more hosted by some
friends. We LOVE feedback. Good or bad. And we are always trying
to make the show more fun to listen to, and easier to get.
Backstory: This show originally started out as an idea that Jeff had
called "Two Guys on a Couch." It was going to be a Fantasy
Football radio show were the guys talking were average joe's who
happen to know a lot about football because of Fantasy Football
leagues. Flash forward 2 years, and Jeff still had the idea, but had
just been shot down on "regular radio" because there was some
guys doing something similar. Being a guy from "regular radio"
and frustrated by lack of air time, he set out to make this idea
come about. After reading some articles and books on podcasting,
Jeff realized the best way to do it right, would be to just learn from
doing. But what to podcast? What would be compelling enough to
keep them coming back each week? Well, even if it didn't work
out, it had to be fun. So "2 Guys on a Couch" became "30 Minutes
with Friends."
Wait did I miss something? How did we get to that point. Well
knowing he needed help from friends he began assembling a crew
who would be able to "be themselves" and give that "Morning
show" vibe. So, after a pow wow dinner at Outback Steakhouse
with Jeremy where the show was drawn up on the kids menu in red
and blue crayon, the show name and idea were hatched. Jeremy
would be the movie guy, Dorothy would be the
Entertainment/Gossip chick, and Noel and Jamal would be the
Music guys. Flash forward 2 months, and now we involve Brittany
to be an in studio producer, Nilo stops by to check out the show,
and then later grab Molly, and the 6 of us became what is now, 30
Minutes with Friends. Or as we like to call it 30MWF. Special
show contributors, Heather, Jen, Noel, Jamal, and many other
friends have helped round out the show, and fill in when folks are
