I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4My name is Roo, and I am a fourth generation broadcaster who grew up in a radio family. I am currently the evening DJ at 93.7 JRFM in Vancouver BC. My great grandpa, Billy Browne Senior, worked at places like CKMO and CJOR in Vancouver. He ran a show called "Breakfast with Browne", and when he died My Papa Billy Browne Junior took over his show. Breakfast with Browne was the longest running radio show in North American history. My Papa started Coast Radio on Vancouver Island, and when he passed away my Nana Norma and Dad Greg Phelps continued to run the business until 2005 when the company was sold. My mom Charleen has also had her own talk show "People to people." Although I grew up surrounded by all things radio, I officially started on air new years day 1999. I am so proud to be the evening personality at the best country station in Canada!! From CHQB, to Fai and Phelps, CFCP, to Montana Mornings I have fallen even more in love with radio. Working night shifts, to co-hosting, doing news to having my own morning show I am trying to make my own mark on this industry.I want to make great radio that other people can enjoy, I want to be a nice person NOT just on the air but off as well, and I want to be remembered as someone who is in this industry because they are passionate about radio and entertainment, and not just themselves. Radio stuff aside I'm a pretty basic gal. Family and friends are the most IMPORTANT thing in the world to me. My best friend is Kristin Street and most rad things about me I learned from her. I am so blessed to do what I love for a living every single day, but I am MORE blessed to have a wonderful family and great friends that ground me, and remind me of who I am and where I am from.
