Another Option Productions is launching it’s first VOTE=VOICE voter registration and food drive project. AOP and Austin area Rap/Hip-Hop artists are working to be visible and responsible for the betterment of their communities.. Our gaol is to register 1,000 new voters within Travis County. We will register our peers, families, friends and supporters. To celebrate the achievement of our goal, a culminating event is scheduled for November 17th at the Historic Victory Grill www.historicvictorygrill.org. .Several incidents of violence and racial profiling locally and nationally have resurrected feelings of racial divide . Our plan is to respond to those feelings among our peers in a positive way. We believe that participation in our government is one of the most effective ways to be respected and create change. Voter education and registration is step one. Another Option is taking the leadership to organize step one.Another Option Production challenges each Rap/Hip-Hop artist or group in the Austin Metropolitan area to commit to identifying and registering at least 50 young adults with in the next 30 days. On November 17th at the Historic Victory Grill we will celebrate this achievement with an All Stars Showcase featuring Spark Dawg, Koitti, AOP Squad, Gutta Gang, Above All Entertainment, Gerald G, On the Line Records, Team Next, Nick D. and many more.Collectively, we can ensure our voices are heard. VOTE=VOICE is our mantra. The food donations allow us to give back in a tangible way. Thanksgiving is the time we take our seat at the family table. All families in America should have the same privilege. Remember, those who refuse to participate in our government allow those less intelligent than us to govern.Clifford Gillard

Women & Their Work presents She Speaks, a hip-hop performance by
EPeriod at the historic Victory Grill in AustinThis charged performance infuses jazz, poetry, hip hop, and acoustic music with a Generation X twist. Narrated by artistic director E. Christopher “Cocktails†Cornell, She Speaks features Khalilah Ali, Kelly Love Jones, and Renita Walls and forges a new image of women in hip hop. Leaving behind old stereotypes, the performers weave a vibrant, edgy story of contemporary women and the many hats they wear. They’re more than wives, mothers, lovers, providers, and friends; that’s why She Speaks. In addition to their performances at the Victory Grill, the artists will perform for students at Pearce Middle School and Travis High School. Through these performances and workshops, the artists look at women in hip hop culture from a new perspective spreading a positive message to urban youth.Samples of the performers stylings available at http://www.myspace.com/womentheirworkmusicPerformance dates and location:
