And Bears, Oh My! is the musical playground of Kevin Clark from The Homeville Circle and various other Little Pocket Record projects. The project started initially as an outlet for songs that didn’t quite fit The Homeville Circle stylistically, but in time took on a life of its own. The initial recordings were never released officially, though several cdr copies of the “Songs For Grace EP†are in circulation. Clark abandoned the ABOM project for over a year while working on The Homeville Circle’s LP “Moths and Rust†but after experiencing the break up of a long term relationship and the death of his mother both within a month of each other, inspiration hit.
FROM THE CARPET BAGGER’S HALO features eleven songs, nine of which were written and recorded in only nine days. The recording features Clark on vocals, a first, as well as carrying the lion’s share of the instrumental responsibilities: banjo, mandolin, guitar (all three of which are often played with a violin bow), air organ, melodica, typewriter, toy piano, keyboards and bass guitar. He is however not alone being joined by fellow Little Pocket collective members Paul Zink (singing saw, trumpet), Steve Mohr (bass guitar) and Moo Ramirez (drums, saxophone).
