About Me

So check it: I'm running for President (of the U.S.), but not anytime soon. I'm actually going to run in the year 2020, but since I don't want to be a slave to Wall Street (unlike most politicians) I'm not taking any corporate campaign contributions, so I figured that I had better start campaigning early. Keep in mind, I am new to web design and don't have money to be spending on fancy software that will "check my spelling" or "make my site look pretty" so there are plenty technical mistakes, but I still get the point across (and I try not to get hung up on technicalities anyway). So, wanna check out my site? Here's the address:

Anyway, about me:

I recently graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. I primarially studied biology and chemistry. Specifically, experimental field biology, biochemistry, and microbiology. I also studied digital and analog music synthesis, as well as studio production.

I freakin' love music! It's pretty much my life. There are plenty of other things that I am way into, but it all pretty much comes back to music and art to me. Basically, I think I am in love with the realization of how potent of a medium music is. I am currently working promotions for several radio stations in Seattle. Other than that, I like to exercise/play sports (I love mountain biking and martial arts), hang out with friends, read, listen to music, play the drums, dance, and activize (that's the verb form of being an activist ;)

Point of clairification: In the "Status" section I checked the "swinger" box, but that's just because they wouldn't let me leave it blank. The term swinger is a nebulous and emotionally charged term that really doesn't describe my views on romantic relationships. Basically, I reject titles that imply posession such as boy/girlfriend or husband/wife, because they are always prefaced with the word my. And I have no desire to posess anyone nor to be anyone's posession. I'm not going to go into further detail here, but if this is a concept that perplexes you, feel free to ask me about it.

Politically, I'm not sure where I fit on the scale. Actually, that's not exactly true. It would be more accurate to say that I refuse to accept such bland and limiting titles as liberal or conservative. I considder myself to be a relatively free thinker (though we are all conditioned by our society and up-bringing) so I typically try to make up my mind about an issue after making a serious attempt to understand it from multiple angles. Though I will say this: I think that priority number one for every nation on the planet (but the most developed nations bear the greatest responsibility for leading the way) should be the ensurance of the perpetuation of the human race by making sure that the future generations have clean, safe, and beautiful ecosystems in which to live. So basically, when there is a choice between industry, and a known environmental hazard, I will almost always voice my opinion on the side of the environment. I believe in free markets and personal freedom, but things held in the public trust such as waterways, air, and protected areas, should not be at the disposal of private entites.

Anywhoo, I'm rambling. The only other thing that might be of interest is that I don't eat meat. I don't typically go arround advertizeing that I am a vegatarian (mainly because many people have bad experiences with dogmatic vegetarians that they automatically assume that I am preaching at them, wich annoys me). I don't hide it, but I also don't title it. I usually don't eat eggs or dairy products, but I'm not super hardcore about it (I will sometimes eat eggs that I purchase from a local farmer I know). I happen to be fortunate enough to live in a country where I can easily survive and be healthy on a vegetarian diet, if I am somewhere where I cannot, I choose my health over uncompromising rigidity. And oh yeah, to all the vegetarians outh there who one day for whatever reason decide to eat meat again, just remember: you are still a vegetarian if you want to be. Just because you ate meat again because you're hungry, or it's a holliday, or whatever dosn't mean that you've broken some sacred vow and now it's over, so you might as well go back to you're old lifestyle. You can looki at it that way if you want, or you can realize that you're human, you are allowed discressions and treats, and that you still hold the same values that you heald before you crossed that line (this actually applies to many imagined lines in our lives not just the herbivore/omnivore line).

Well, have a great day!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Realistically: Anybody cool. If you are intelligent and open-minded, or at least aspiring to be less stupid and closed-minded (because we are all stupid and closed minded sometimes) then drop me a line. Much love and best wishes to anybody who sees this.

Eventually: Jesus, the Buddah, Einstein, Ram Dass, Gandhi, Ayn Rand
