Director, producer, editor and actor Alex de Frietas holds nothing back when it
comes to the world of film. Born in Lisbon, Portugal Alex has called Canada his
home for the last 24yrs. With career potential as a professional soccer player Alex
chose a career in film instead. He attended the International Academy of Design
where he studied computer animation with the goals of directing animated features.
His plans took a turn when he chose to work as production assistant on a feature
film “Low Budgetâ€. This project gave Alex the confidence he needed to set into
motion his own filmmaking career. His passion for film has fuelled his dream of
becoming a successful filmmaker, while his determination and optimistic attitude
has earned him respect on and off screen as well as behind the camera. An
independent soul Alex dreams with his eyes wide open, always going against the
grain he sees his career in film as success in the making. His vision is to create
outstanding films, with exceptional creative talent that both entertain and provoke
thought and emotion.
