FUN FACTS
"
Bon Voyage!"
"One of Walt Disney's favorite trips was for this film because it took him to Paris, where he got to visit places he'd been when he served as an ambulance driver at the end of World War I.
"Never again!" Walt Disney declared after being criticized for a scene in which an attractive Parisian girl flirts with Fred MacMurray at a sidewalk cafe.
The film was nominated for two Academy Awards® for Best Costume Design and Best Sound."
FUN FACTS
"
Follow Me, Boys!"
"The movie marks Kurt Russell's Disney film debut, as Whitey."
"Variety wrote, "The production catches the spirit of rural America in the '30s with moving charm, blending comedy, drama, and romance in a buildup toward an emotionally charged climax."
"Follow Me Boys!"
Written by Richard M Sherman and Robert B Sherman
graciously proof read by Tara Height
(chorus):
Follow me boys, follow me,
When you think you're really beat
That's the time to lift your feet,
And follow me boys, follow me,
Pick'em up, put'em down and follow me,
Pick'em up, put'em down pick'em up.
There's a job to do,
There's a fight to win,
Follow me boys, follow me,
And it won't be done till we all pitch in,
Lift your chin with a grin and follow me.
(chorus)
It's a long long climb,
But we've got the will,
Follow me boys, follow me,
When we reach the top
Then it's all down hill,
Till you drop don't stop and follow me.
So the journey's end
Is beyond our sight,
Follow me boys, follow me,
If we do our best
Then we've done alright,
Pack your load, hit the road and follow me.

"
The Shaggy Dog"
Fred MacMurray heads an all-star cast that includes Jean Hagen, Tim Considine, Kevin Corcoran, and Annette Funicello in her big screen debut.
After years of on-the-job clashes with cranky canines, mail carrier Wilson Daniels (MacMurray) sees man's best friend as his worst enemy. This makes for one hairy situation when a magical ring accidentally transforms his teenage son Wilby (Kirk) into a lumbering sheepdog!
Can Wilby break the spell and foil a team of international spies, or will both he and his dad wind up in the doghouse? Packed with sidesplitting antics, slapstick chases, and hilarious sight gags, this madcap adventure will tickle the funny bone of every two- (and four-) footed member of your family!
FUN FACTS
"
The Absent-Minded Professor."
"The motion picture, made on a small budget, did fine business at the box office, inspiring the 1963 sequel SON OF FLUBBER.
When the movie was released, Time magazine called it "The season's kookiest science-fiction farce" and printed the special effects department's recipe for Flubber:
"One pound saltwater taffy, one heaping tablespoon polyurethane foam, one cake crumbled yeast. Mix till smooth, allow to rise, then pour into saucepan over one cup cracked rice mixed with one cup water. Add molasses. Boil until it lifts lid."
The filmmakers decided the film should be shot in black and white to make the special effects more believable. It was later colorized.
Walt Disney was allegedly inspired to make the film after witnessing an experiment involving carbon dioxide gas. "

"
Son Of Flubber ."
"Walt Disney's grandson, Walter Elias Disney Miller, makes a short appearance as a baby in a television commercial.
For the football game in the film, exterior shooting was prohibitive because of the special effects and trick shots involved in the sequence, so a section of the stadium and a major part of the field were reproduced on one of Disney's largest soundstages. It was exact in every detail, from the transplanted green sod and goal posts to the cheering spectators and the enthusiastic cheerleaders. "
FUN FACTS
"
The Happiest Millionaire."
"Burt Lancaster and Rex Harrison were considered for the role of Anthony J. Drexel Biddle, but Walt Disney awarded the role to his favorite actor, Fred MacMurray.
This film marked actor John Davidson's movie debut."
