Stykks Zukonya iz a musical powerhouse who's roots (family/street) stem from a housing project known as castle square in the south end of boston. Growing up in a rough environment filled with crack heads, gun violence and harrasing police, Stykks was forced to cope with the everyday life and reality of "tha hood". Unfortunately at an early age stykks wuz forced to witness hiz older brother who he then looked up to, be carried out of his house in handcuffs during a raid for an incident that occured earlier that day. For the next five years he would have to grow up visiting hiz influence behind bars at
an upstate prison. Staying strong as he grew older, he began to transfer the stress from the hard streets into rhymes. The more he experienced the more he wrote and soon these raps would develop into the raw street flow he has today. "As i got older, i got better with words and better at explaining the life i was living from my point of view. Like with anything you do, the more you practice the better you get, there fore my flow grew into something serious." Balancing the gang banging street life with the music, he continued to write and write. Stykks is now known for his sharp flow, his grace while riding the beat, his versatility and also for touching concepts other rappers wouldn't touch.
"I think people appreciate my music so much because of the versatility i bring to the game. I make different songs that relate to different people with different lifestyles. I connect different worlds into one that every culture can feel. Also my flows are crazy on beats." Wut also makes him unique is for each one of these styles he has a different alias he uses on the track. " I got stick em stykks for the hood shit, SZ da don when im on my club, stunna shit, SZ when im speaking that real shit, and overal u can hear stykks zukonya. I started doing this because it lets your mind use its imagination. I'm a different person when you hear each of those names, but when you see me, its all combined in one. I try to make music as interesting as possible." He is currently in a 2 man tag team knock out squad, known as "STRICTLY BIZ" along with Sigz Shoota.Still dealing with struggles of law cases and every day life in general, he stays strong and vents through his music. " I feel im the future of rap, theres so much music out right now that is degrating the real meaning of hip hop. its like every one is just in it for the money and not for the cause. rappers now a days dont try to make a classic cd, but more like one song to get them rich, and thats not what rap is about.hip Hop is on a stretcher right now and needs to be revived. It's like an orphan, it doesn't know where to go or what direction to go in. My music is going to take it to another world.I..AM ....THE FUTURE...I..AM...HIP HOP!"
