Alvin Golden Jr. aka A.G. Mr. Murda Michigan was born on January 16, 1986 at Hurley Hospital in Flint Michigan. Not originally from Flint, he resided and grew up on the outskirts in the small community of Beecher (Buctown). His parents Barbara Townsend and Alvin Golden Sr. separated while he was just a couple months old. A.G. is his mothers youngest and only boy with 2 older sisters. He also has 3 older brothers and 1 other older sister on his fathers side.Growing up in the hood of Buctown, fast life and the crime ridden environment he grew up in with no father figure present, A.G. had to grow up fast. What his father didn’t teach him, the streets, music and most of all his beloved mother Barbara did. With that being said, he had to adapt to his surroundings the best way he knew how. There were few roads for him to travel down. Those who chose the road to the streets. Those who played sports, and those who chose the straight road of working a 9 to 5. With Basketball being his first love since age 6, music was always right behind it. A.G. started out his early basketball career playing little league for his Elementary School (Dailey Tigers). From the 5th to 8th grade he still continued playing basketball at Dolan Middle School and was also a member of the Middle Schools Band. He played in the Percussion Section. At age 12, A.G. started his rapping career. Him and his local neighborhood friends would form groups and freestyle against each other before, during and after school. At first it was just for fun, until they realized some of them really had talent so A.G. started to take music serious. So from there, free styling became song writing, and song writing turned into going 2 the studio and actually recording songs. A.G. recorded his first song “SHELL SHOCKED†at age 15 at a local neighborhood studio called Below Zero. After recording his first song and hearing his self on the track he fell in love with the studio atmosphere. With writing being his favorite subject in school, it was very easy for him to express himself on paper. He spent countless hours in his room listening to all kinds of Rap and Hip-Hop music and writing full fledged songs. The technique he used back then he still uses til this day. If he heard someone rapping on a beat he liked, he would simply blank them out and start jotting down his own thoughts to their beat. Then later when it was time to record, he would find his own beat to put the song to. A.G. can also write poetry.A.G. juggled basketball and music all throughout High School. After graduating in 2004 he went on to college to play basketball at a Black College in South East Texas called Prairie View A&M University. After 2 years at Prairie View, basketball wasn’t on A.G’s agenda. His frustration with the situations going on he walked away from College and the one thing he loved so much and immediately put all his love for basketball toward his music. While in College he became part of a rap group, Onpoint Entertainment. During his time with the group he took advantage of his opportunity. Being from Michigan and with his style and vision of rap, he soon made a name for himself on campus and around Houston. A.G. also was on a number of mix tape’s that the group released frequently. A.G was in and out the studio at the time recording his first solo mix tape entitled, Chapter 1 Mix tape. The mix tape was supposed to be released and funded through Onpoint Entertainment but that didn’t happen as planned. So A.G. took matters into his own hands. He paid for everything on his own. During late 2006 A.G. announced that he would be leaving the group due to a constant lack of commitment, and miscommunication issues A.G. went on to start his own label, DUFAL BAG ENTERTAINMENT.Setting out on his own, A.G. still remained focused on his music career while in Houston. After previous conversations with a fellow Flintstone who resided in Houston as well, CEO of Dufal Bag Entertainment, Stacey Williams and CO-CEO/ARTIST A.G, put their ideas together and finalized what it now DUFAL BAG ENTERTAINMENT.After overcoming all adversities that stood in his way A.G. linked up with Mike Barnes of Lot Mo’ Productions and producer Sam Irving of KnuckleHead Entertainment. From there they finished A.G’s sophomore mix tape entitled “The Best Of Me†in early 2007, so A.G. hit the streets of Houston and promoted at any venue he could doing shows and selling his cds. On September 6, 2007 A.G. became the father of a beautiful little girl.(Paityn Alani Golden) He put his music on hold for a few months to adapt to fatherhood. Once he adapted to his new lifestyle he was right back in the studio and started on his 3rd project “Murda Michigan Mix tape†after it was finished he moved back home to Michigan and promoted his music there.
