28 year old singer song writer Michael Lloyd pink was born and raised in west London. He started performing as a MC to Drum ’n’ Bass in school at the age of 11 however as the Jungle and Drum ‘n’ Bass craze began to die out and House and Garage came in the number of MC’s rose and Michael could see no future in it. After hearing the Boys II Men song “End of the Road†he decided he wanted to be able sing the way they did and started vocal training with the Jazz singer Kathy Williams. For five years Michael sang, he sang from the moment he woke up to the moment he went to sleep and in that time he found his own voice and style. He listened religiously to Soul and Jazz Music and his main inspiration was that of Connor Reeves. He practiced the songs “Earthboundâ€, “My Fathers Son†and “Ordinary People†until he had every note and rift down to a ‘T’.
It was one day in 2000 he heard some music coming from a building he was passing by so he sat outside and began to sing along. After a while the music stopped and it was then he met a 1 tone gave Michael the space for his foot into the industry. She developed him as an artist and taught him about the business side of the industry too.
“I’m in Love with her†was Michael lloyd pink first completed track Since then Michael has gone on to perform at various festivals including Victoria Park’s festival "Lovebox" and "The Country Show" at Brockwell Park. His song ‘My Baby’ has had play on various radio stations including Choice FM’s Richard Blackwood show and Radio1 the ‘Homegrown’ show. Michael has also toured with Alabama 3 and has worked with the likes of artists such as Eye Can Be, , Romtom, Keni B, Nasty Jack, Big D
