Kommon Folk began in 1998 by a group of young men that hung out together at the University of South Carolina. Throughout the years the name grew bigger adding on new members in 2001, which influences everyone to start taking this music very seriously. After years of doing music and building a well rounded team, the Aeeyee Team was formed. Most of the members are from South Carolina like: Quevo Black, C-Black, Dubb J, Doc Holiday(all them are from Dillon, SC), Mee-Z, Soulja Boy, Lil Jay( from Summerville, SC), CuttaMan, Dame Dolla, Bam Bam, Big Trav( from Columbia, SC), E-Class, Puff on dat Beats(Marion, SC), E.Q. (Union City, TN),and Slim (Gaffney, SC). Kommon Folk dropped a couple of mixtapes out along the way to stardom, for example, “The Reconstruction of S.C.†in 2004 and “Can’t Stop the Aeeyee†in 2005 also performing at multiple venues such as: “The Endzoneâ€, “Club Sabastiansâ€, “Club Signaturesâ€, “Club Levelsâ€, “Club Evolutionsâ€, Bike show in Rock Hill, and many more spots within the South Carolina area. KF is also displayed on the hood dvd “Straight out the Trunk†vol. 3. Kommon Folk is a name that speaks for itself, it is a direct representation of the group and the individuals with the group. Based on the originality and versatility, Kommon Folk Ent. will undeniably leave a major impact on the industry.
