A phrase often used when referring to Undeniably unique and raw talent, 20 year old singer/song-writer Kenyon. His fresh, trendy persona along with his mature, soulful sound enables him to command a broad range of listeners.
Hailing from Watts, CA (jordan Downs) Kenyon was raised in a strict christian household where secular music and activity was practically forbidden. Though that limited his choice of recreation, the talent was far from absent while he and his siblings were all patrons of the arts. Born to a "sangin" Mother and a Father who was the leader of a christian quartet, His vocal ability came naturally but never appealed much to him as a child. However, he was greatly a fanatic of soul, gospel, old-school and almost any other genre of music he could get his hands on.
Bored with singing in the church choir and the traditional childhood recreational sports, He began to pursue a career in dancing, where he made his mark as one of the Premiere Members of The Kennedy Tap Company. (Founded by Paul and Arlene Kennedy) He had the pleasure of working with and performing for such greats as Michael Jackson, Gregory Hines, Ben Vereen, Savion Glover, The Nicholas Brothers, Dianne Walker, and Jason Sammuel Smith just to name a few. Kenyon Began Choreographing for several Local Artists, Shows and Events, where he started to become recognized as one fo L.A.'s hottest young choreographers and became a client of DDO Artist Agency before the age of 16.
Although He was and still is making great progress in the latter field, much like a true fanatic of music, he could only stay away for so long. Gradually stepping onto the music scene, Kenyon began singing background for various artists Including West Coast Legend Dj Quick, Former Hidden Beach Recording Star Jamal', Q. Dixon and a hosts of others. With His Catchy, Soultry Lyrics and His Raw yet Soothing Sound, He is now making his impression as a solo artist and is slowly but surely emerging on Today's Soul Music scene as one of the best. When asked about his music he often says, "My music is, my music! There is no in between. Just take it how it is.. STRAIGHT UP, NO CHASER!"
