I'm a senior at the University of Denver! I'm majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and I'm hoping to head to med school after undergrad to get my MD/PhD (I haven't decided on specialties yet). Ideally, I'd like to focus on research as a career, maybe in genetic disorders or birth defects, but I'd also like to have time to see patients, so - maybe a research hospital.I'll be headed to Madrid, Spain, for the fall of '06 for a study abroad program - SOOOO excited, expect a huge jump in the size of my photo album come January. I'm minoring in Spanish, so this should be not only a FANTASTIC cultural experience but a chance to hone my language skills in an environment no amount of classwork could ever provide.I'm a theater FANATIC. If the field wasn't so uber-competitive and if I didn't already have an inherent disadvantage (being disabled), I'd most be in LA or New York right now trying to make it on the stage instead of being stuck at a lab bench all the time. Which is fun, don't get me wrong, but not nearly so much so as being under the lights in make-up and costume. :-)In my free time, I act, I sing, and I play video games. That basically sums it up entirely, although I really do wish I got around to reading more. I really enjoy it, but somehow most days I can't get the motivation to open a book...I still haven't figured out why.Philosophy fascinates me, and I love laughing more than anything else on earth. I love being spontaneous, poetic and romantic, when I can pull it off. Essentially, I love life and I'm getting as much out of it as I can. Carpe diem!
