Reading, writing, fencing, archery, music (and musicals), foreign films, travel, haphazard baking impulses at two in the morning, epic adventures, rollercoasters, sketching, chatting with my friends and random strangers that make the mistake of appearing cognizant within three feet of me. I love to dance and sing and I enjoy just moving, whether it's skipping or hopping or some strange fidget that I have that seems to be a combination of both. If you're up for a chat, my aim is Musemisplaced and my dA is just a click away.
Confident, charismatic people who make me laugh and have perfected the art of conversation(the act of talking is not the same thing), people that hum without knowing it, people who prophesy with half-eaten bowls of cheerios, and those rare few who can run and look up at the same time without becoming a trifle dizzy.
My words fly up, my thoughts remain below.
Words without thoughts never to heaven go.
I listen to anything and everything. If the music is good, i'll listen to it regardless of genre or the time it was recorded. I am, however, partial to angry cellos and pianists that don't believe in breathing. I tend to move from one genre to the next, depending on my mood, but some timeless favorites are MUSE, Imogen Heap, Jon Brion, Fiona Apple, Chopin, Joshua Radin, David Bowie, A Perfect Circle, Apocalyptica, Javier Navarrete, The Decemberists ( ♥ ), Vivaldi,Tremblebee, Rufus Wainwright...
My morbid streak comes out in my taste for films, though I do enjoy a good intellectual comedy as well as quite a few movies introduced in the fifties, and anything positively oozing with irony. I have a strong affinity for musicals, most likely because music has a strong effect on me. It's passion in pure melodic form. I love it. There's nothing better than a man belting his baritone sorrows on the big screen. My favorite is Sweeney Todd with The Producers following close behind. Some of my favorite films include Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Pan's Labyrinth, American Beauty, Velvet Goldmine, Casablanca, all of the Star Wars movies, The Court Jester, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Edward Scissorhands, Pride and Prejudice, The Labyrinth, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pulp Fiction, Donnie Darko, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, An American Werewolf in London, Amelie, Victor/Victoria, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Night at the Roxbury, Much Ado About Nothing, Jules et Jim, The Portrait of Dorian Grey, Gladiator, The Dead Poets Society, Sleepy Hollow and The Count of Monte Cristo. There's a lot more to list, but I never did have much of an attention span.
Okay, so maybe I’m a little obsessed with swordplay…
No swordplay involved. Really.
Mostly just CSI (despite the chronic overacting), Nip/Tuck, Heroes, and Lost. I suppose I just like a good intrigue. mmm... I love Jon Stewart. I used to watch Monty Python and Fawlty Towers religiously, but my BBC was cut off.
This list needs to be abridged regularly. I stopped listing titles and authors that I liked but didn't inspire raptures because it's taking too much space. I'm mostly interested in fiction/scifi/fantasy, but I also like historical fiction and biographies. I normally can't stand romances or mysteries. Some of my favorite writers are Douglas Adams, Juliet Marillier, Gregory Maguire, Stephenie Meyer, Phillip Pullman, John Steinbeck, Jane Austen, Clive Barker and Chris Wooding. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul, by Adams, or House of Leaves, by Danielewski.
