About Me

Hi,
I'm Jonathan - known as Fin by many.
Who are you? Why are you looking at my profile? Huh?!
:)
I figure myspace is for people who like to check/see/spy on people they used to know so I thought I'd leave it public for everyone to see.
I am an interesting individual. I can play an introvert and extrovert - depending on what the situation calls. They are both beneficial for different reasons and I utilize them.
I am a quiet guy. Why? Because I am always thinking even if someone is talking to me. Is it ADD, who knows.
Don't assume that I don't know you are lying or trying to tell me bullshit. I've learned that it takes too much stress and time out of my life to correct people since everyone likes to spew out all kinds of illogical shit. I'm a smart guy, I know this - that is all I need to know.
I have also learned another valuable lesson with that. Be careful of who has your time. One of my most valuable lessons I have taught myself is to know when someone has great wisdom and teachings and be able to also know when someone is full of it. Being humble around those that I knew were much wiser in all aspects of life has been on of the greatest attributes to making me a better person and I won't stop that till the day I die.
Another thing - and yes - I will take a shot at my generation.
1. I DO WHAT I SAY I AM GOING TO DO
2. I am consistent with my goals and where I am trying to go.
3. I know I will not become rich overnight nor do I expect too. I will expect to become rich when I realize I have a great family and I am able to provide the same things and better than my own parents did for me. Then I will be a rich man.
4. I believe part of my purpose in life is to have great stories for my grandchildren. I will be that "cool" pappy that will tell stories of my travels to Europe, my time in the service during the war, how I went to an all black school just to build my character. The future will hold much more.
5. To the common person, I am boring. I do not believe in exerting myself onto people. This is why I stay quiet. If someone wants to come to me for questions or help. I help.
6. I WORK HARD and I will continue to work hard. How hard?
The Military, nuff said.
15 credit hours, full-time CAREER as an Network/Systems Engineer and I ran an eBay business on the side all at once.
At the age of 8 I started working with computers with my best friend Sean Juan. Over the years I have developed it working in various positions and I have the ability to work with more systems/networks/pc's/styles/databases than you'd think.
My current job is not one that you sit around all day and surf the web. My current job has me studying 15+ hours a week. Traveling across the country and working on projects for some of the largest companies in the world. Don't always assume the IT guy in your company who sits around drinking coffee is what I do. I work with the most technically skilled professionals in the world and I don't take it forgranted. I would hope that 3-5 years from now, I will be one of the most respected engineers in the company. The best part about that? If I want to, I can!
I don't drink much, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs.
I trained in Brazilian jui-jitsu for 6 years after I left HS and was able to place in several regional level tournaments. I will get back into the game once life slows down again.

My Interests

How to better myself.

I'd like to meet:

You know whenever you were young and had a friend you could look across the room at, and just blast out laughing for no reason?

I want to meet someone and have something like that

Feeling random, message me at fintheman with AIM.

I have taken the unorthodox paths in my life, and these paths have taught me much about myself and I can't take those things back

From another country? Chances are we would get along.View All Friends | View Blog | Add Comment

Music:

trent reznor knows whats up.......
Honestly, I love GREAT written music and artist that play their own instruments.

We are in a time in where there is a fight between entertainers and artists. Obviously, I respect the artists. I hate to sound "punk", but whenever music is created in a boardroom with social statistics and survey's of people by a bunch of suits, thats when music has gone over the line.

Examples of what I dislike? Most hip-hop and rap, I wish people would realize how much they are playing the hands greedy people, marketing wise, its not that hard to push it to the people who listen to it. I could cite some examples, but apparently, if you don't like rap/hip-hop, you are automatically labeled a racist and I'd rather not get into that a discussion.Other notables would be radiohead, stabbing westward, dj dara, ak1200.I guess my styles.....hmmm...dark-beat, tech-step dNb, industrial, british rock.

Movies:

No recent movies that I have really enjoyed. To be quite honest.

Television:

Brainiac, Mythbusters, Adult Swim, Some Anime

Books:

Instead of books...why not bookmarks.Digg.com (awsome tech news site) fatwallet.com (wanna save some money? and learn how to be a frugal mofo like me?) mobissimo.com (Amsterdam for 620.00 in high season, they deserve my plug)

mma.tv (the otherground) One of the most influential bulletin boards for me since 1999. Many friends and contacts have been made. Yes, people have good friend on the internet they've never met, sounds geeky? not rly!New links ls2gto.com - GREAT forum for my car gizmodo.com - I love gadgets and this site feeds me engadget.com - another gadget site I frequent expertsexchange.com - heh...heh...look at the name (Seriously it is one of my most used resources while doing IT work) cisco.com - I wonder why? lifehacker.com - YAY!
