THE PIT was formed in the year 2004 in Querétaro City under the influence of Death and Thrash Metal, creating always aggressive and fast music but at the same time, with their lyrics somehow reflect humans’ self-eradication and the dehumanization of himself.
The band was founded by the bassist Octavio Olachea, who participated and was co-founder of several other projects, soon the guitarist Antonio Nolasco (ex-WARCRUSHER, HACAVITZ and PROFANATOR’s actual vocalist), the drummer Alejandro Franco “Kano†(ex-ENOUGH HAS BEEN SAID, ex-TO SEE YOU DIE and PROFANATOR’s actual drummer) and the vocalist Roberto joined Octavio on this new project: THE PIT.
With this original alignment the band performs for the first time in August of 2004 and keeps playing in various local shows. After a short time, Roberto leaves the band and Guillermo Galván (UZZIEL and ENZIMA), joins them as the new vocalist. Last but not least, Vicente Licéa also joins the band to finish tracing the pentagram, playing secondary guitars in the band. In March 2006, THE PIT records a split CD with Piraña (another band from Querétaro City) having great impact on the audience, this CD included 2 original songs of each band and a cover interpreted by each of them.
They decided to go on tour to promote this CD for the next couple months. The band has performed in different cities all over the country. THE PIT HAS RECENTLY RECORDED ITS FIRST CD. YOU WILL FIND HERE SOON MORE NEWS ABOUT THIS SO EXPECTED PRODUCTION.
