Guilty were formed by two friends, Phill and Alex in 2005. The duo pride themselves on a Lennon/ McCartney style of song writing, taking inspiration from a vast aray of both everyday experiences and more obscure sources of enlightenment. The band first got together whilst writing their debut single 'My Meat', often seen by fans and critics alike as a humourous sing-a-long song with a powerfull message. Although the band have often been criticised for their obscure lyrical choice Alex has been quoted as saying "what of it, its my choice what I write if you don't like it then don't buy it", whilst Phill's opinion on the matter is slightly more sympathetic saying, "sure I understand why people get upset, but me and Alex have an important message to share with the world, sometimes you have to be blunt its the only way to get noticed".After the success of 'My Meat' the band have spent much time working on new material to be included on their eagerly awaited debut album 'Guilty as Charged', and the previews released by the duo have been received with critical aclaim with critics noticing the similarities with legends such as Johnny Cash.
It is worth mentioning the band continuously strives to do its bit for charity, in a recent interview Alex said, "I bloody love mencap, shame it has to exist but its great it does, we love our sponsered walks for the charity and hope to perform charity gigs in the future in aid of the charity".
The boys always keep their private lives hidden away from the public and press. However, both are reknowned as womanisers and party animals.
In more recent times the band have celebrated success in the Sussex and Hampshire charts wildly with 4 entrants in the top 10, capped by four weeks at number 2 with cult single 'My Meat', celebrations were said to be cut short by police in the early hours of the morning following unfortunate goings on in a local Tesco involving the fish aisle and a misplaced bottle whiskey causing havoc.
