Better known as, James Bankhead King Jizzle is a native of Kannapolis, North Carolina. His reign started at the age of 7, when he started singing in the church choir at First Baptist Church in Kannapolis. There he quickly learned harmony and rhythm. Soon after that he began singing around his grandmothers house and with friends. When he turned 9 his older brother started a rap group with a local friend and they called themselves P.O.W. (Prisoners of War). King J and his friends loved to hear them rap and soon also took to the industry calling themselves RugRats. The group didnt last long. Many members stopped, leaving Jizzle to continue on his journey. He stayed solo, rapping and singing for years. He and his brother would record using a double tape deck and a microphone. When he entered middle school, his mother bought him a trumpet and put him in the band. While in band he learned notes, chords, and got more in depth harmony lessons. He moved from last trumpet to first trumpet in one year. While in high school, he stayed in the band and began competing in talent shows to showcase his voice. He became part of a high school group called Unknown when he was in the ninth grade. People called us a Kannapolis version of New Edition, because we had about 7 people in the group. -KJ. They won talent show after talent show, and soon A.L Brown High School told them they couldnt participate in anymore talent shows at the school because they were not giving anyone else a chance to win. After that announcement, egos in the group started to flare and many people quit. With Jizzle and only two other original members left, they changed their name to Amour, (French for Love.) They recruited one more person, and soon after, started recording in his brothers studio and competing in local talent shows. We didn't win all of them, like when we were with Unknown, but we won our fair share. They sang on WPEG Power 98 with No Limit Larry where they got to meet and greet with the original 3LW. Jizzle remembers this as one of the best times of his life. After that, the group appeared on Kannapolis mix tapes. In 2004, the group split up because of creative differences, and King Jizzle moved on to pursue a solo career. Not side tracked by the groups dispute, Jizzle continued to do more mix CDs with guest appearences from Amour members such as "Streetz", "J-Vocalz", and "Arijunal." "Just because we have creative differences doesn't mean we still can't come together and get business handled."-KJ In 2005 released his own mix CD called Rise Of A New King. And is currently featured on the 2006 mix KP Affiliates 2 : HEAVY ON DA GRIND. He is continuing his career as a solo artist and participating in every showcase he can. His record label: 1 Nation/O.T.R. Entertainment is also begining to take flight. "It feels good when you can dream, but it feel even better whenever you can make that dream a reality"-KJ For this Singer, Songwriter,Rapper, Producer, Engineer, Label V.P/ President and all other titles, it has been one journey, but he still remembers the key to success.
"Keeping God and Family number 1 is a main part of my success. When I get depressed I just chill with tha FAM , my daughter, my Queen, or someone to that effect and I know everything is gonna be alright."-KJ
