Originally from Eugene, Oregon this 30 something singer songwriter began his music career in the early nineties in Portland, Oregon. Previously he spent a few years in Hollywood where he found mild success working in movies, television, and commercial. John has worked with such celebrities as Madonna, Ed Begley Jr., Dennis Franz, and Kathy Ireland.It was in Hollywood where John met his Music Mentor Mark "Mr. E. Boy" Englert from Dramarama and formed Hatful of Rain. At one time Hatful of Rain featured Courtney Courtney Taylor from The Dandy Warhols on drums. Their first album 40,000 Moments received radio play in LA, Portland, and Seattle and to top it off a national record deal. The record was a favorite among independent music critics and received stellar reviews.Today John is married with children he currently lives in Carlsbad, CA and can be found playing regularly at local coffee houses around North County San Diego. Since Hatful of Rain he has put out 2 albums "Fancy Car" and "I'm Going Home". John still plays with Mark Englert periodically and most recently played a small gig with famed guitarist Jeff Lindsky.

John Lowery is a vocal genius and a talented song writer. John has a passionate voice that screams talent. A mellow harmonic singer,with an element of rock in his singing. Musically gifted, with a chill out feel style of play, David Gray(white ladder) comes to mind. John sings from the heart, what John can't do with his music style wouldn't be worth listening to. A true energetic singer, with a skill for writing amazing lyrical masterpieces that you'd hang on your wall, like a classic monet painting. All John's songs have a meaningful story to them, some sad some happy, but you decide on that one. Little Buddy is a tear jerking song that makes me grab a tissue. I'm an ex gulf war vet, it reminded me of my brother, who i served with and he was my little bro (we were close). John has a gift that so few musicians have! A talent so few singers/songwriters possess! John will be a top 40 hit in the usa, as well in the uk (where im based). A musical excellence that this genre of music has been waiting for.
