The 57th Annual Oakdale Rodeo drew over 450 contestants and over 3000 spectators!
The Weather was hot and so was the action!
"This thing they call Rodeo is much like Ball Room Dancing...except your dance'n partner weighs 1200 lbs. and wants to lead!" TM Kevin Fox
Ryan Cope Is one of the best and most respected custom saddle makers in the Western Unites States! I spent three hours with him shooting his beautiful custom works of art, and talking the finer ponts on every thing from breaking horses to dutch oven cooking. Ryan's Wife, Lisa, hand looms saddle blankets with wool from her own sheep. He called me... YES ME! ...to photograph Saddle #100! I was honored to do it. The modest looking saddle has gorgeous tooling and lacing with a silver stamp below the horn stating that it is the 100th Edition. "AND" a STINGRAY leather seat that has a natrual white diamond mark in the center... FREEKING STINGRAY! CAN you Freeking imagin??? My guess is that it will probably sell for close to $10.000 (and never see the back of a horse). While this may seem insigificant to some of y'all... Frankly, I could care less! Just spending the time with an artist like Ryan Cope was worth the price of admission,

I Pour Gas on the Fire!
First and foremost, I'm passionate about Art and Music. Both start with nothing and end up with a reacation to emotion. Happy... Sad.. Accept.. OR Reject... Did you know, Your brain reacts emotionaly to images insantly. Intellect will tell you to accept or reject. If an image can hold your attention for more than 3-5 seconds... That's ART. Think about it... The last time you fliped through a magazine. Page after page. what page did you stop on? Why? Did you have to flip back because of what you thought you might have seen? How long did you look at it , before you moved on? That's ART... and it's everywhere in Our day to day life. Billboards to Dashboards. E-mail to Junk-mail. T.V. News to TeVo...Did you have to flip back because of what you thought you might have seen? That's ART...
I am a working photographer and a Graphic Designer. That means this is my job. I have 20 years experiance in the phototography industry. For the last few years or so I have been doing Commerical Product and Advertising Photography almost exclusively. Shooting the bulk of a 2o page ditect mail magazine. I get a few fashion jobs out of that. But, for the most part I do fashion and glamour as a creative outlet. I specialize in: Fashion/Glamor, Commerical Stock, Commerical Product, Executive Portraiture, Commission Portraiture, and Editorial Photojournalism. I am also available for wedding and event photography. Even simple headshots.
Photography and Graphic Design for Commerical Print Advertising Campaings
As you can see I have a wide range of experience. I love to work with other creative people. If you are interested in working with me, please feel free to contact me about your project. MY RULES: I don't do nudes. That's just not my thing. Sexy is cool... but, I will never ask you to bare it all. It's rare for me to do a shoot alone. I will have worked with you before, or know you for some time before I shoot with you alone. In most cases, I will have a crew a long. I still do TFCD work when time alows, (This doesn't mean my crew works for free.) But, don't be afraid to ask. I'm sure we can work something out.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

"The Cowboy Capitol of the World"

In June of 2007, I began this "made for web" video series about the history of this small town where I live and that I have grown to love. Oakdale, California is know as the "Cowboy Capitol of the World". there are a few other citys arond the Country make the same claim. According to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, RODEO (as we know it today) was born right here in this little town. Explore some history, and meet some of the great people that make Oakdale, California the "Cowboy Capitol of the World". You can subscribe to the series on YouTube at: www.youtube.com/oakdalekev for updates to this on going project. I hope you enjoy it.

Episode #1: The Cowboy Capitol of the World. Oakdale Is a small town in California that claims to be the "Cowboy Capitol of the World" In this series I attempt to find out why. And, along the way you get to meet some real nice folks.

Episode #2: National Day of the American Cowboy. A few years ago The U.S. Senate agreed that the last weekend in July should be set apart to celebrate the history of the American Cowboy. This is just one way we do it here in Oakdale, CA. "The Cowboy Capitol of the World".

Episode #3: Over 50 years ago, a small group of working cowboys set out to create a roping event to prove their skills in competion. It would be a ten steer avrage and They adjusted the rules slightly to better suite real ranch conditions. Untill then Team roping was only popular in California, Oregon, Southern Washington, and Western Idaho. Now these NEW rules have made Team Roping one of the most popular rodeo events in the Nation. It all started here in Oakdale.

Episode #4: The Oakdale Cowboy Museum celebrates 10 years and honors the founding board members at an annual dinner and auction. Actor, Wilford Brimley is the guest speaker. Lots of fun that night as the past is honored, and a vision for the future is layed out. There are 5 parts to this video set.
