About Me
Greetings and salutations to you all! Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Lady Rowena Ravenclaw, one of the original four founders of our beloved Hogwarts School if Witchcraft and Wizardry. I must ask that you do not become alarmed since the four of us have been dead for over a milennia.
I am very sure you know the story of how Hogwarts came to pass, for I have seen it in the history books! Quite remarkable that so many details were in fact recorded accurately. The only misinformation is the villification of our dear Salazar Slytherin. He does find muggleborns and half-bloods less trustworthy, and he may go so far as to proclaim that magical learning should be kept to purebloods, but never in any way has he condoned violence against them.
Now you may be wondering, "Lady Ravenclaw, how did you all come back.?" I will admit it was mostly my doing. Upon leaving a portrait for Salazar in his chambers, I happened to come across some plans he'd made. Always brooding and a bit moody, I was not entirely suprised to see that he was making plans for his entombment after his passing. Even the strange markings he wanted on his tombstone was of no concern until I saw the parchment that held it's translation. To my suprise, he wanted a ressurection spell carved into his marker! My mind immediatley began to ponder the ramifications of his return without the rest of us, Helga and Godric included. With experimentation and a bit of pure luck, not to mention a few drops of blood from the four of us, I was able to bind our souls together in this life and beyond. I am very glad I had the foresight to do so, for in this new century so far past our own time, Salazar was ressurected, which in turn brought us all back with him. I shall not reveal the whole story, for it is long and drawn out. Though if you wish to know, I would be happy to relay the tale.
I am facinated by this time and all the people I've come to meet and hold dear. I am overjoyed to see the rights and luxuries women posess now, reminding me of the limitations Helga and I were held to in our first lifetime. It is a little known fact in the history books that all of us were indeed married when we founded Hogwarts. My own husband was a mean spirited man, who sadly met my families requirements for wedding me. He may have been rich and handsome, but he was cold and controlling. I was able to produce two sons to carry on the line of Ravenclaw blood. It is an interesting fact however, that my family insisted I keep my original surname, for the name Ravenclaw was more powerful than his. My grandfather Lorbeus was insistent. He was not happy about the match, but to his dying breath he supported my decisions and gave me the eagle pendant which contained all his knowledge. Now that very same pendant is around the neck of my many times removed granddaughter, Emerentiana Ravenclaw-Brown.
My fellow founders and I have been reborn into a time of strife and war, sadly brought on by the sole heir of Salazar's line. Even with stars in their eyes when they gaze upon eachother, Helga and Godric are vexed by this development as well. The senselss violence and the pointless murdering of innocents has our attention and we will use all of our magic, both seperate and combined to combat this evil. With the power of the elements, we will help the hard working aurors and The Order of the Phoenix prevail over all the illwill brought upon by this man calling himself Lord Voldemort.
My home, the ancestral Ravenclaw Manor. Upon our ressurection, Minerva McGonagall offered us her manor after her marriage to Sir Trenton. Happy to have a home, the four of us quietly moved in. Since it was impossible before and old feelings were still evident, Helga and Godric began the prelude to courting. I myself, did harbor romantic feelings towards Salazar in our time, as I did in this one. As fate wills it, he once again fell for another and my heart was broken. After a row with Salazar on that very subject, it was I this time that decided to leave the manor.
Seeking my old home, I found it in disrepair and on the verge of crumbling. With the help of some kind witches and wizards, we were albe to restore Ravenclaw Manor to it's rightful glory. Sparkling as it never has before from it's location at the northernmost tip of the Isle of Man, Ravenclaw Manor looks out onto the ocean from it's cliffs filling me with the calmness and serentity of my element. Now, with my libraries stocked and my art rooms full of canvas' and paint, I am ready to settle myself into this time. Though old habits are hard to break. Knowledge seekers tend to be happier by themselves, and I am no exception to this rule. I am determined to break with that assumption and become a more social lady.
