Wassup, Cloud9 here. Here's my deal, I have been doing 'music' for my whole life. From band geek (fuck you for thinking it) to Song 'sequencer', From wanna be to gotta be. Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B has always been my favorite genre. I grew up in Memphis (Northaven, BreckenWood holla!) so I had access to alot of great inspirations on the radio. Later, when I was in Europe, I got into the music scene as a DJ @ 16 years old in a London Pub. Who's knows 'American' music better than an American? A year later in Rome, Italy I got connected with some rich English boys from Mount Mary Catholic School (damn Catholic schools have some BAD kids!) who were into the underground hip-hop scene. One was a 'rapper' and the other was a popular DJ (with TONS of connects and eqiupment to play with). On the weekends, we would spend hours making some of the most awful music in the world. We got spotlights in a few clubs and a hip-hop convention at Villa Borghese regarless. This was how I started. Phase 2: I moved back to the US at 18 y/o. I was culture shocked...everything was SO different. I had to find a way to bide my time. I taught myself to write instrumentals using a 'Tracker' (sound sequencer) and began experimenting with music theory. When I was going to college in Paducah, KY I lived in the hood, so I got hooked up with some thugs who were into the music thing. They saw something in me, some talent, some potential. Before I knew it I had a full studio in my house!! We're talking 16 track mini-disk recorder, club speakers, mics, the works. Wow. But what the hell do I know about studio equipment? I had to learn. I was the sound man for my people for 2 years until I moved away to Iowa. Phase 3 and still learning: Now I've bought my own studio equipment. I have time, talent, inspiration, and the equipment. Why not make music? So here I am. In most of my songs, you will find a message or a story. 90% of the shit I say is true, for better or worse. The other 10%, well, I'm working on that. I write songs to express feelings, consider these my confessions.MySpace Layouts
