I'm a woman of a certain age and in my estimation, a counter-culture iconoclast. I think I was the first barefoot hippie in the Village in the 60's. I wanted to be a ballet dancer and since I lived in Connecticut growing up, near the Long Island Sound, we used to walk on the beach barefoot and so I developed extremely high arches and tough feet and my feet were and remain very sensitive and I hate to wear shoes. Also we were very poor and I wanted, like a lot of us at the time, to make a statement about what a person needed. We 60's people tried an experiment We were anti-industrial revolution. We tried to go back to a kind of agrarian way of life. It didn't really work, but I think if we hadn't done it, it would have been tried at some point or other. We were kind of Urban Pennsylvania Dutch without the religion. Of course, I may seem a bit naive. From my point of view, the drug taking and free sex was a political statement. Anti establishment and a response to the conservatism of the 50's but maybe not. I can't generalize about everybody but can just speak for my small group in the Village. I still try to maintain a kind of Hippie credo. I share what I have and I try to be nice to as many people as I can. But I have had to harden myself to a certain extent and be more protective and pragmatic. The sexual revolution was not that great for women. It was much better for men who could be pretty abusive.
At this point in my life, I try to maintain my values. I have had to join the modern world but I do not want to give up who I am or what I think is correct.
In my blog I am writing about my family who are nuts. They are malicious and abusive and remain so to this day I don't see them very much and still have to take a deep breath and figure out what they are doing. Most of them have some serious ADD, so they can do things and then just deny it afterwards. I have no idea if they really don't remember or are just lying. So for those of you who can read this blog, read it if you want or just ignore it. It's my choice to put my life online where some people can see it. It's helping me to cope and to deal with things. If it's too unpleasant, then just listen to the music I have chosen Soon I will put some of my stand-up acts on this site. I hope I get some work from it. I have had a very hard life and I hope the people who read my blog will learn from it. I'll write more later!----
Well it's later. I just want to add that I have been practicing Silva Mind Control for about 20 years. I credit this practice with saving my life. I will write more later in my blog. I have a lot to teach and I can use this blog as a forum for my knowledge and my ideas, so watch for all this stuff.
