The Holy Roman Empire was a confederation of many different lands and nations in Central Europe. It was created from part of the Frankish Empire by the Treaty of Verdun in 843. The empire lasted until Napoleon dissolved it in 1806. By the 1700s, the Holy Roman Empire consisted of Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Luxemburg, Belgium, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, and parts of Poland, Nethrlands, and Crotia.
