Review of recent JWR show at The Malthouse, Abergavenny:
"Next up were Pontypridd's Jam With RoBina, this unusual duo were a real surprise, looking like surfer dudes Romano Marenghi and Mark Tambini created some great harmonies from opener Pink Room through to I Am The Man (lyrically very dark). Romano's vocal range has to be heard to be believed, at times sounding like Joni Mitchell (I kid you not) and at others Ian Anderson in the Jethro Tull inspired If It's Quick. They finished off with the title of their new demo album Visions Of A Runic, with an added ethnic flavour to Mark's guitar this was an epic way to conclude the set. "

Quotes from Visions of a Runic review by BRFM (see blog for review in full):
…next up is, for me the highlight of the whole album. The Jethro Tull influenced If It's Quick is not plagiarism, more of an homage to Anderson and friends, it also has single (I'm from era before downloads) written all over it. This gem is followed by the haunting vocals of E.L.C, taking as it's influence early Radiohead but then transforming the style with that special Jam With Robina versatility.
The ethnically flavoured Visions takes into Led Zep Epic mode and is a real delight, but what comes next is phenomenal, the basic I Am The Man, is very catchy and should be a double A Side with If It's Quick. Lyrically very dark; “Whisky gutless wonder†anybody?
All in all a very fine album, look out for it. This jam deserves to be served with proper home made scones . . . . and of course the obligatory cup of tea.
