The Artillery

About Me

The Artillery. Early summer 2005. Thoghts about starting a band was not an open proposal anymore, it had been a fact. After playing guitar together at places all over, the two "boys" Johannes Gustavsson & Robin Livehed put their fascinated heads together and started up to forge plans for the music they both love, the punk/rock music. They started to trade acustic to electric and dreams to serious visions about make an operational idea. Maybe sounds a little bit to serious... What they needed at the moment was a drummer and a bass. And then Fabian Lundbäck entered the stage, Fabian was knowned since years before as a good trummer who loved punk/rock music. In years he had played the beats of many well knowned punk bands, but not in a serious way, The new beggining needed him. So they called and he was in... The now three young dreamers started to play punk together, in fact it was good, after a while the name "Lost in a mass" turned up. Lost in a mass became the name of the band. In a half year the band played together as three individuals, lead guitar, comp guitar and drums. It started up well, gig's becama thrue, and people liked what they heard. But after a while they realized that they needed a bass. The first demo had also been recorded and the title of the song was Summer, and the band name needed more attitude and glamour so they started to call them self The Artillery. In some strange way Summer became the picture of the band, the way people knowned The Artillery. One day a man called Johannes and the band got an interview in Radio Båstad, and the song was played live in radio. It was a big step in the career. David Carlsson had now became a member of the band and I think you can guess his place. The band was now complete in the instrumental bit, and more and more songs been written.. A new EP was recorden in the late summer of 2006 and the name of the EP "Delicious apart but perfect together" should reflect the new band and the way the band had taken form. I think I can't tell you more about the band, new gig's turned up and the band took more place and becama popular in the younger circles. After meetings with people in the music circle and a bit of help with promo The Artillery became a serious band. Today they need to be listen to, if you like what they do, come and see them and feel them.....The Band are locatad in a small up lighting punk-local in Varberg, a town down the Swedish west coast. The Artillery is pop/punk/emo/rock-band, yes, you can say that. They don't play just one special music category, I want to say that they play a mix of punk, pop and rock'n' roll. They have many influences of many different bands and different styles but most of their influences and inspiration comes from their own experiences. If you want to book The Artillery, watch out -- theartillery.net
