About Me

Dave McEathron’s forthcoming album, Passers-By Passers-Through, is grounded in story. As a songwriter, McEathron's approach is always double-edged, moving from beauty to sadness, unearthing emotion in everyday places. Musically he distills a dense, textural aesthetic into raw, roots-influenced songs. This recording features David Celia, Angie Nussey and members of Jay Clark & the Jones.Born and raised in Southern Ontario, Dave McEathron found a love of music at an early age. At 15 years old, McEathron was playing live shows with folk, country and rock bands. He went on to study music at Humber College in the early nineties, majoring in Composition. In 1999 McEathron released his self-titled CD under the name Dave White and the Stone Farmers. It received airplay on college radio and garnered attention from the CBC. With the name-change, came a change in direction. McEathron divided his time between the artistically rich community of Parkdale, Toronto, and his country home on edge of Algonquin Park.McEathron takes inspiration from the poetic lyrics of Townes Van Zandt, Gordon Lightfoot's style of finger playing, the vivid characterization of Bruce Springsteen’s blue-collar politics, and the psych-folk rock melting pot of Gram Parsons. Over the years, countless gigs have found him sharing a stage with contemporaries such as The Sunparlour Players, The Shovels, Jack Breakfast and John Landry. McEathron has contributed to the soundtracks of Cube Van and Low Budget and hosts a regular songwriting night, Loaded Lyric Mondays, at Mitzi’s Sister in Toronto.A prolific songwriter, McEathron is not only anticipating the release of Passers-By Passers-Through, but also is anxious to get back into the studio with an arsenal of moody, melodic new songs. His many projects include a musical interpretation of the poems of David Seymour, . Dave's CD can be purchased online at: http://cdbaby.com/cd/davemceathronhttp://cdbaby.com/cd/davem ceathron
