The #1 thing I think needs to change in the world is how we communicate with each other; Especially if we are trying to change the world. We have to make our messages clear and INCLUSIVE- no more preaching to the choir... Nobody knows anything until they find out! SO let's talk to each other and not AT each other.I love exploring and learning! If there is anything or anyone I want to know about... I'll learn it! I'm a true journalist at heart... that means I like to give all people and places a closer look... For some reason, I'm just very interested in everyone's personal story- what they love, what they hate, what they want to know and see- I just think everyone is important in some way and I love finding out exactly how they can have a positive effect the world. I love music!! A lot of my time is spent pretending to be in music videos in front of my mirror.... and I'm OK with that. BELLY DANCING** is one of my most favorite things!!! and I'm doing it constantly! My ipod is basically one of my appendages and it if full of GREAT music: *not in order of importance* Queen,Frou Frou, Imogen Heap, Amy Winehouse, My Morning Jacket, Sigur Ros, Nina Simone, Telepopmusik, Jump Little Children, Shakira, Coldplay, every Putumayo CD(Sahara Lounge and Brazillian Lounge are my favorites), a TON of middle eastern music *tarkan, Mansour, etc*, Cake, M.I.A., K-os, The roots, Jem, Daddy Yankee, Punjabi MC, Gwen Stefani, ANI DIFRANCO I'M A LESBIAN FOR HER!!*, Depeche Mode, RAY LAMONTAGNE, , Gipsy Kings, Bright Eyes, Jeff Buckley AND MANY MANY MORE! I'm not even going to pretend that I'm not constantly feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders, but it helps me to be compassionate and aware of my impact on the world. I don't belong to any religion and I'm OK with that too... but i still LOVE learning about all of them and identify with certain aspects of many of them... My religion is treating people with kindness, trying to keep my physical impact on the world low and my emotional impact high, speaking up when necessary, even if a lump in my throught makes it almost impossible, and making the loved ones in my life never doubt my feelings for a second! I am majoring in Journalism and Middle East Studies. I hope to one day have a women's empowerment group for North-African and Middle Eastern Women. I laugh A LOT because most of the people in my life are hilarious, so it's hard not to. I think space and dinosaurs are cool STILL!! There is no true definition of beauty to me; beauty is far too delicate. I hate TV but i watch it anyways. Good books are THE BEST but hard to come by. (READ HOLY COW- you won't regret it!) I can't cook a DAMN thing..... seriously... nothing.... I am learning Farsi and Spanish- I LOVE languages! And most importantly... I live my life ON PURPOSE! ..
