If you're a band:
I will only add you, if I actually like your music. If I don't, I won't. In the latter case, don't regard it as an offence but just as an encounter of two different tastes that don't match for whatever reason. Nevertheless, I wish you much luck in the future and that you may realize yourself in your art.
If you're a private person:
I won't add you, if you've got thousands of friends and leave the impression that I'm just another number. I won't add you as well, if you seem to be unsypathetic to me for whatever reason - period.
