Hey there! *waves* I'm Anna, and welcome to my 'Space (no pun intended)! The other sections should tell you generally about what I like and dislike, so I guess that leaves you with the question 'WHO is she?' (although I suppose a couple of you will be thinking 'WHAT is she?')!Well, are you sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin...Firstly I'm a Christian, so if you're a fellow brother or sister then let me know! I went on my first mission this summer to Africa, and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience! Some would say I am vertically challenged, the French would call me petite i.e. I am short, which has its pros and cons! People thinking I'm younger than I am can be somewhat annoying, but hey if it still works when I'm 60...haha! But on the upside I can have piggybacks, which is always good, and it means I can (sometimes) get away with things heehee!I'm a student, working towards a degree in music. Music is a big part of my life, whether I'm performing, listening to it, or learning about it (but please keep all things Schenker-related away from me)! The course I do is fantastic and well-rounded, and we have a number of staff who are amongst, if not the leaders in their fields, so hopefully if I work hard I'll come out with a decent mark! I am a saxophonist (although I dabble on the piano and clarinet), and I'm in a few groups in uni, so if you need a big band or a smaller ensemble to play somewhere let me know and I'll see if we can help! :-)As a person, I'm cheerful most of the time, and enjoy encouraging other people - especially if they're feeling down! I have quite a lot of energy and am generally enthusiastic and optimistic (well, people have their off days, don't they?), but I suppose my *ahem* young at heart disposition helps! :-) If you catch me on a bad day, I'll probably be stressed and worn out, and worrying about the work I have to do. I'm not someone who gets cross very often or easily, unless someone does something extremely irritating/rude, although I must admit I'm more prone to grumpy spells when I'm tired and/or hungry!I also love giving and receiving cwtches (that would be hugs/cuddles to you non-Welshies) - did you know they improve blood circulation? - therefore be prepared, I shall probably wish to bestow one upon you sooner or later!Well, those are the main points, please continue with your journey through my profile and feel free to leave me a comment or a message if you'd like (I would ask you to please refraining from swearing though, because it's a habit I really do not like)! Enjoy!Perhaps speak to you soon - Take care and God Bless!

If I were a Dead Russian Composer, I would be Igor Stravinsky.

Known as a true son of the new 20th Century, my music started out melodic and folky but slowly got more dissonant and bizzare as I aged. I am a traveler and a neat freak, and very much hated those rotten eggs thrown at me after the premiere of "The Rite of Spring."

Who would you be? Dead Russian Composer Personality Test

My Interests

Would it be too obvious to put 'Music' here? Well it's got to go here, really - it's a big part of my life! Playing it, listening to it, it's fabulous!Aside from that, I'm pretty easy-going - just generally hanging out with friends, reading a book, watching a film/TV. Sometimes I play on a games console, but not so much nowadays...oh yeah, and I'm on the 'net quite a lot so suppose that has to go here too!

I'd like to meet:

A number of people! The problem is, quite a few of them are dead...like Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Martin Luther King Jr. I think talking to William Wilberforce would've been really interesting, as would've been C.S. Lewis - and Stravinsky! The people I'd like to meet who are actually alive (haha)...*thinks* they're people involved in musical or Christian circles, generally. Michael Jackson's a biggie though, eccentricities and all!

Music:

NOW you're asking - as you can imagine, I like quite a lot, so narrowing things down is going to be tricky! In terms of 'classical' music, these are the composers who I can think of the most easily: Stravinsky, Musorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Debussy, Vaughan-Williams, Tippett, Britten, Bartok. In terms of your mainstream bands/artists I enjoy music by: Michael Jackson (and by that the Jackson 5 and The Jacksons), Hanson, Lighhouse Family, Tunde, Simply Red, Jamiroquai, Backstreet Boys (and other boy groups from way back such as Five and a1), KT Tunstall.I'm trying to delve into the Christian music scene, so I don't know a whole lot about it, but what I own I enjoy very much: Relient K, Mute Math, Mark Schultz, Matt Redman. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know!Jazz is a music that is very special to me, although I know that there is so much of its history that I haven't heard yet - there are a good number of albums that I need to get my hands on! However, I enjoy music by the following musicians [NB this is not a comprehensive list, I'm just bad at filling these things out]: Soweto Kinch, Femi Temowo, Jazz Jamaica, Abram Wilson, Duke Ellington, Stan Getz, Joe Lovano, Courtney Pine, Jamie Cullum, Frank Sinatra/The Rat Pack and I like latin jazz generally! As I said above, if anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate hearing them!

Movies:

Argh, I'm not very good at remembering films!Ok ok *thinks* well I still have a lot of affection for the Disney films I grew up with, but my all time favourite has to be The Hunchback of Notre Dame.Ummm in no particular order...The King & I, The Longest Yard, Driving Lessons, Harry Potter, The Holiday, Dr. Doolittle, Narnia(!), Cars, X Men 1+2, Shrek 1+2, The Fifth Element, Hot Fuzz. I'm sure there are probably a lot more, but I cannot think at the moment!

Television:

CSI (all 3 series are good!), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Mock the Week (when I remember to watch it), 8 Simple Rules, Scrubs, Friends, Red Dwarf.

Books:

Sadly, when uni is in session, I don't have a lot of time to read for pleasure, but the best book I have come across is the Bible (as cliche as it may sound)! Other titles that I have thoroughly enjoyed, or found very wortwhile/interesting are the Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, The Rhapsody Trilogy, The Kite Runner, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, Boy Meets Girl, Not Even a Hint, Captivating, Fight Like a Girl, Musicology: The Key Concepts, A History of Russian Music, The Birth of Bebop...and there are so many more that I would like to read!

Heroes:

Jesus is the ULTIMATE hero! :-)However, I must admit that I am a fan of superheroes too, such as Spiderman, the X Men, and who can forget the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the days of yore?!
