About Me

I have been singing and composing for as long as I can remember. Since my teens I have ventured through most genres of modern music and some not so modern. I started out in a rockband called Särimner, a band luckily fallen in to oblivion. More important for my musical career was the irish folk music band "Jag, Pis och en kompis", that I formed with two classmates in high school. Though this band did'nt live long either it had a huge impact on my development as a musician. In my early twenties I traveled Europe extensively providing for myself as a streetmusician playing Irish folkmusic and popular covers. In that time I lived periodically in a musicians community in Ålesund, Norway were I was involved in diffrent alternativ rock projects. There I also was aquainted with Scandinavian folk music and found my musical home. After attending a performing arts school in London I returned to Sweden and started to persue a career as a folk singer. In 1999 I formed the band Liten Stina.(www.myspace.com/litenstina) In 2001 I formed the folk music duo Anda (www.myspace.com/anda1) together with Anders Peev. (www.myspace.com/anderspeevmusic) Anda has developed into my main project currently. Pop into Andas myspace and listen to swedish folk music. I also do soloprojects and use swedish folk music as modern worship music in churches. Apart from the scandinavian folk music I compose singer-song-writer styled music. I also on occassion enjoy singing a bit of bluegrass.

Sounds Like: Well some people say John Denver, my brother says Dan Fogelberg and I wouldnt mind sounding like Eddie Vedder. As a swedish male folk singer I don't really sound like any other because there's so few of us. But I am inspired by many female folk singers such as Sofia Karlsson, Emma Härdelin (Garmarna) and Gunnel Mauritzson. I am also inspired by the scottish folk singer Dick Gaughan. Nobody sings with a nerve like him. Turning east I really appreciate the persian/swedish singer Rostam Mirlashari (Golbang) but I don't sound the least like him... If you have any proposal as to whom I sound like, post a comment!
