Opening Night! - THE Improvised Musical

What we Do!

OPENING NIGHT: THE IMPROVISED MUSICAL is exactly that, a musical that is made up on the spot, based on audience suggestion. Therefore, every night is the Opening Night of a musical that has never been seen! Sadly, it is also the closing night, but closing night sounds so...final. And not even this cast can withstand the force of weekly wrap parties. So the cast opens new, exciting shows, composing a completely unique experience every week.

The LA WEEKLY said, "(OPENING NIGHT) juggle those ill-at-ease bedfellows, spontaneity and control, with mind-boggling panache!", calling the cast a "comedy machine!" They finished with, "almost too slick to be completely improvised!"...which may just be the finest compliment an improvised show can receive.

IN Los Angeles Magazine said the show was, "an incomparable piece of insanity!, and listed OPENING NIGHT in their Best Of" year-end issue.

The Opening Night cast combines the improvisational styles of the Improv Olympic, the Acme Comedy Theatre, the Second City, and the Groundlings with the Broadway stylings of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Gilbert & Sullivan, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Bob Fosse, and Edith Head. Occasionally, they also borrow the helicopter from Ms. Saigon. They usually give it back.

The longest running show at IO West in Hollywood, is currently in its eighth year, and still going strong!
