I was raised in a suburb of Kansas City and had a great childhood. As an only child, I've always been close with my mom and dad and still consider them two of my best friends. I met my husband, Ben, in high school. He is my best friend and the love of my life! We started dating when we were in college at the University of Kansas, had a whirlwind courtship, and were married in October 2001. We enjoyed married life for a few years and traveled some before taking the plunge into parenthood. Our son, Sam, was born in August 2005. Since he was born, he has taught me so much about myself and life in general. He is intelligent, funny and kind. I look forward to watching him discover and grow everyday. We eventually want another little one, but are not in too much of a hurry. To round off our family, we have a sheltie,Wyatt, who has adjusted well to not being our baby anymore and loves Sam like he were his own. Our family made a huge change in April 2006, when we moved to Utah for Ben's job. It has been quite an experience and forced us out of our comfort-zone. We have made some wonderful friends here (you know who you are), but eventually hope to get back to Kansas City. As for work, I am an RN. I started off out of school in the surgical/trauma ICU at KU Med. I LOVED working there, made some great friends and saw some crazy stuff. I really miss that place. I now work in the float pool at the University of Utah. I am passionate about working in a teaching hospital and it is my goal to someday teach nursing. I believe in God, the strength of family and marriage and that people are generally good. Although those statements sound pretty conservative, I am actually more liberal in my beliefs and strive to be accepting and open-minded.
