My Interests

walking home from work in the afternoon with my husband, co-hosting soirees with Mike, the nine minute nap in between snooze-button hits, AM cuddles, NOT having to wearing slacks, unprecedented postcards, singing at the top of my lungs, dancing with girls, combining six different recipes into a New on I'll never remember, hearing Muriah and John-Michael sing, inventing in-side jokes with Mike, writing movies over the phone with Maggie, making my mother laugh, telling jokes that only Nathanael finds humorous, taking the long way, digging my hands into the ocean floor up to my elbows, live shows, being alone drinking Saphire and tonic while watching strangers, being with friends belly-up and laughing while drinking bourbon, reading books about what other people have found out about humankind, teaching someone anything new about communication, finding a new way to show love, crocheting lace, making new clothes from old t-shirts, throwing gala parties, playing with my cat, napping with my cat, roadtrips, smoking cigarettes while figuring out the universe, finishing things, starting new things, ending debt, making Amazon wish-lists, buying new clothes, hearing "I know what you mean", hearing "I love you", making people spit beverages, making compilation CDs, exploring my episodic memory, afternoon naps, knowing the best is yet to come, writing, renting movies I've never heard of

you better listen to your radio

I was sleeping on the wrong side of the bed, in the first place. It's a small thrill but once in a while Mike and I "switch things up" and I sleep on the left side (to keep my sword-hand free). Mike t...

I can't stress the importance

This thing is welling up in me. I'm experiencing a welling. So is Mike. We're welling on a verge. Not swelling. It is as though freedom is welling up inside us, and is on the verge of spilling, pourin...

Bless Us

I never had the chance to get to know Cal very well, but I remember the first time I met him. He strolled into my office at once curt and courteous. His blond hair was thick and longish, and his musta...

we were only Freshmen

This weekend past I had a reunion, of sorts, with my college roommate, Carrie Beth. Now, I've lived with a plethora of girls since leaving home (roughly 19), but very few do I actually call, "roommate...
